Backed up by NBS Communications, alpinist Atanas Skatov becomes the first vegan on Mount Lhotse (8516m)

On 16th May around 17:00 local time vegan alpinist Dr. Atanas Skatov announced his successful climbing of Lhotse (8516m) via Thuraya satellite phone, provided by NBS Communications.

With his successful conquering of the peak, he became not only the first vegan and the second Bulgarian mountaineer on Mount Lhotse, but he is also among the first people to climb the peak since 2013. Mount Lhotse is the fourth highest peak in the world but one of the hardest to ascend. In 2014 and 2015 avalanches prevented expeditions and in 2016 all attempts were unsuccessful. Only six days after the ascent of Mount Lhotse, today Dr. Skatov announced that he successfully climbed Mount Everest for the second time. Many factors affect the outcome of such a challenging expedition, but in any case reliable communications is a must.
